There's an interesting piece on The Verge today about a proposed new rule that FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler proposed that could finally bring about The Unbundling (or what I call it). It could help reduce your cable bill and allow you to pick and choose the channels you ACTUALLY want to watch. What a novel concept - only pay for what you actually watch. Why hasn't anyone thought of that already?
I don't expect this to change overnight or even at all. Comcast, Time Warner and their ilk have a lot at stake and they spend a lot of money in Washington to make sure they get to do as they wish, but the start of the fight is better than no fight at all.
